As parents, we always want the best for our kids and birthday parties are no exceptions. After all, a birthday is a celebration of and for your child but up until they can organize their birthday parties and plan events the way they want to, it’s our job to try and get them the party they deserve.
So, grab a piece of paper and know your timeline so we can help you check all the boxes for a perfect birthday party for the perfect kid of yours.
Budget and Schedule Wisely
In each event, it’s important to always be clear and firm on budget and schedule restrictions. Without having these two ironed out perfectly, planning a kids’ party can get stressful, messy, and eventually unsuccessful.
The budget will dictate how much you’re willing to spend and how attainable certain goals can be when it comes to deciding on the logistics of a party. The schedule, on the other hand, will greatly affect how appropriate particulars are for the time of day or year.
Decide on A Theme and Venue
Next, decide on a theme. It’s always best to ask your child what they want for their birthday or what they’ve been liking recently. Knowing what your kid likes is so much better than defaulting to Disney or Hot Wheels without really consulting what your child would get excited about. After all, this day is about them and their friends and their interests so make sure they’re, to some extent, proactive about the preparation of this party and deciding on a theme early on is a good way to start.
An important thing to smoothen out early on in this process is the venue. Regardless of your budget, there’s a venue out there for your kid’s party. You can hold it in your living room or at an upscale playground depending on how much you’re willing to shell out and what your kid wants to do.
Decorate and Furnish
Now that the theme’s been set, it’s time for you to decorate accordingly and furnish the venue you’ve decided to lock-in. There’s no need to spend more than what’s within your budget when it comes to decoration so make sure you allocate a reasonable amount and set your goals in a sustainable and attainable way.
If your venue doesn’t come pre-furnished or if the furniture doesn’t look very fitting for a kids’ party, there are tons of event furniture rentals here in Utah to help you out.
Make Sure Food and Activities Are Ready
With the decor and furnishing underway, make sure you settle a menu and program flow as early as you can. Again, this will depend on your budget and your timeline. It’s important to put yourself in the shoes of kids a certain age to know if the menu is too “grown-up” or if the activities are too dated. Stack up on fun activities to engage your kid and their friends in some healthy energy release they can bond over.
Now, all that’s left to do is sending out that invite to your kids’ friends and their parents to make sure everyone on the guest list can block off the upcoming birthday boy or girl’s celebration.
